LeSean McCoy Gets Big Contract Extension

By Chris Pierangeli on May 17, 2012

The Philadelphia Eagles and running back LeSean McCoy have agreed to a 5-year contract extension worth $45 million.  The deal makes McCoy a Philadelphia Eagle until the 2017 season and includes over $20 million guaranteed. Last season, McCoy was the one consistent player on an otherwise unpredictable, and often unproductive, Eagles’ offense and emerged as [...]

Bounties Miss the Mark

By Chris Pierangeli on March 6, 2012

All the talk across the NFL right now concerns the bounty system that was implemented by Gregg Williams with New Orleans Saints.  In addition to the system used in New Orleans, Williams is believed to have implemented similar systems when he coached with other teams in the past, such as Washington and Buffalo.  Williams rewarded [...]

By Chris Pierangeli on January 24, 2012

On the morning of Sunday, January 22nd, 2012, Joseph V. Paterno passed away at the age of 85 after a battle with lung cancer.  The man that was synonymous with Penn State football leaves a large void in the Penn State community that can never be fully filled.  The legendary former Penn State football coach [...]

Top Philadelphia Athletes of 2011

By Chris Pierangeli on December 30, 2011

The 2011 year was full of ups and downs for Philadelphia sports’ fans.  On one hand, the Philadelphia Phillies set a franchise record with 102 wins and on the other, the team was eliminated from the playoffs in the divisional round.  Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles signed multiple big-name free agents, but couldn’t put it all [...]

By Chris Pierangeli on December 23, 2011

The starting quarterback of the USC Trojans, Matt Barkley, will return for his senior season.  Barkley, who was a potential top ten pick in the upcoming NFL draft, made the official announcement to an enthusiastic crowd Thursday in USC’s Heritage Hall.  The much-awaited decision was welcoming news for a college football program that has begun [...]

Ndamukong Suh is a Dirty Player

By Chris Pierangeli on November 25, 2011

All year, people have debated whether Ndamukong Suh is a dirty player.  I have been cautious to state my opinion because I wanted to see if his aggressive actions would continue all season.  On Thanksgiving Day, when Suh was ejected from the game, I decided that I do not need to wait any longer to [...]

OCHO-OH-NO-NO

By Stephen DiDamo on July 29, 2011

The New England Patriots have been notorious for picking-up other teams’ useless scraps or players with lead-filled baggage, and as if by King Midas’s touch, turn these men into gold.  During King Bill Belichick’s time, he has molded minimally five of these types of players into vital pieces of Patriot teams that have reached the [...]

NFL Lockout: The Players Point of View

By Chris Pierangeli on May 21, 2011

Instead of focusing on free agency, trades, and off season workouts, NFL players and owners have been involved with mediation, lawsuits, and interviews related to the NFL Lockout.  The NFL off-season has been put on hold due to the inability of the players and owners to come to an agreement on a new Collective Bargaining [...]
