Kevin McClernand

Kevin McClernand

My name is Kevin McClernand. I am Sophomore at Penn State. I started working with Bob Long Sports in April of 2011, and began co-hosting Philly’s Phinest in September of 2011. My main focus is covering the NBA, especially the Philadelphia 76ers, as well as College Basketball and Tennis.

NBA Conference Semifinals Predictions

By Kevin McClernand on May 14, 2012

The first round of the NBA Playoffs had some great moments. Two series in the Western Conference went to Game 7, and both Los Angeles teams won those games. The Clippers and Grizzlies played a very unique series in which many strange records were broken. For example, in Game 3, the Clippers shot 43% (13-30) [...]

NBA Eastern Conference Playoff Preview

By Kevin McClernand on April 28, 2012

(1) Chicago Bulls vs. (8) Philadelphia 76ers Season Series: Bulls won 2-1 Key Player: Derrick Rose The Bulls proved that they can be a great team even if they don’t have Derrick Rose, but they need him to win this series. With Rose completely healthy this could have been a sweep, but now it is [...]

NBA Western Conference Playoff Preview

By Kevin McClernand on April 28, 2012

(1) San Antonio Spurs vs. (8) Utah Jazz Season Series: Spurs won series 3-1 Key Player: Tony Parker Even though the  Utah Jazz have a great young core of big men, they are no match for this experienced Spurs  team. Jefferson, Millsap, Favors, and Kanter are all 27 years old or younger, and if the [...]

Where Is The Point Guard Love?

By Kevin McClernand on April 12, 2012

There has been a lot of talk about the NBA MVP race lately, and it has centered around Lebron James and Kevin Durant. Both of those players deserve to be talked about because they are having great seasons and both of their teams are fighting for the top spot in their respective conferences. Kobe Bryant [...]

The Best Team In The NBA

By Kevin McClernand on April 3, 2012

Before this NBA season started there was little doubt in my mind that the Miami Heat would win the NBA Finals, but as this season goes on I am becoming less confident in that prediction. The Heat are the most talented team in the NBA. That is a fact, and if you disagree with then [...]

Monta and Bogut Swap Teams

By Kevin McClernand on March 16, 2012

The Milwaukee Bucks are sending Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors. In return, the Bucks are receiving Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown. This is a big trade for both teams, and it may just be the beginning of a crazy NBA Deadline. Bogut has been with the Bucks since [...]

Peyton Weighing His Options

By Kevin McClernand on March 13, 2012

Peyton Manning appeared to have limited his free agency options to the Broncos and the Cardinals, but now it appears that more teams have come back into the picture. Teams like the Dolphins, Seahawks and Titans are now in the running again, and Manning’s deadline is coming up. Peyton said that he would decide within [...]

Is RG3 Worth It?

By Kevin McClernand on March 10, 2012

On Friday, the Washington Redskins acquired the Number 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft from the St. Louis Rams, but was it really worth it? Or I should say is he really worth it? The Redskins are almost certainly going to take Robert Griffin III with this pick, and I am not so [...]

The St. Louis Rams’ Options

By Kevin McClernand on March 8, 2012

The St. Louis Rams are in a very interesting position in this year’s draft. It was only two years ago that they drafted Sam Bradford with the number one overall pick, and now they have the second pick in this year’s draft. It seems that Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III will be the first [...]

NBA Trading Block

By Kevin McClernand on March 8, 2012

The NBA trade deadline is on March 15th, and it is one of the busiest times in any sport. There are big moves made every single year in the NBA that will change the outcome of the playoff situation. Let’s look back at the biggest trades in the past few seasons. 2011: One doesn’t need [...]
