Jake Elliott is the man! That is all. On to the questions.
1. The Jags absolutely destroyed the Ravens last week. Is this just a strange result in England, or is there some truth to the game?
Kevin: The Jaguars defense is legit. I own them in my fantasy leagues and they are going to be good all year. Blake Bortles on the other hand… Well I don’t expect him to play that well consistently. I am going to give the Ravens the benefit of the travel and London game, but they are 2-1 with 2 unimpressive wins and an awful loss, so I’m not betting on them to make the playoffs.
Bill: This is a strange result in England. This charade NEEDS to stop. There should be 0 games in England until every NFL team has to play a home game there. This is unfair. That being said, the Ravens have played 2 of the NFL’s worst 5 teams in their first 3 games, so 2-1 has no meaning. They are talentless. I’m with you that they are not making the playoffs.
2. Let’s stick with the AFC North, because the Steelers lost to the BEARS! Are the Steelers good?
Kevin: No. I’m not saying they won’t be good by the end of the year, but they are not good right now. They beat the Browns by 3, then the Vikings, who were starting Case Keenum, and now this! Their schedule gets pretty rough after mid-season, so they better get their crap together. I still think they win the division though.
Bill: The Steelers are talented and playing like crap. They will win an AWFUL division but they need to score 30+ a game to be a legit contender this year. With the offensive weapons they have, I don’t see how they haven’t scored 30 yet.
3. The Dolphins lost to the Jets… And it was ugly. Are the Dolphins in trouble?
Kevin: Of course they are. They have to play 16 straight weeks and they lost to the worst team in the NFL and have a starting QB that was retired 2 months ago. Yes, they are very much in trouble.
Bill: Ajayi had 11 carries. Cutler threw 44 times. I cannot think of a better formula for losing. To answer your question, yes. They were in trouble before Tannehill even went down.
4. The Raiders offense was putrid last week against the Redskins, and the Broncos lost to the Bills. These AFC West rivals play against each other this week in Denver and the loser will fall to 2-2, who wins?
Kevin: I’ll take the Broncos. It should be a great game, but I think the home field advantage will make the difference. The Raiders 2-2 start will definitely put them in a hole in the division.
Bill: RAIIIIIDAAAAHHHHSSS. This Broncos team is as unpredictable as they come. Who barely beats LAC (I mean, the Clippers are a basketball team!!!), then destroys Dallas, and then loses to Buffalo??? The Raiders are a better team. As a matter of fact, I think they are the 2nd best team in the league.
5. Cardinals are struggling to run without David Johnson, and he doesn’t come back until Week 10. Can they stay in contention until he gets back?
Kevin: 2 games against the 49ers and 1 against the Rams certainly gives them a chance to stay around .500. They have looked really bad so far, but they are fortunate that they are in an awful division. I don’t think they are good, but they might just be good enough.
Bill: 1. CONTENTION?! *Jim Mora voice* … 2. I will not stand for this disrespect of the Rams and Niners (someone didn’t watch TNF smh) … Anyway, The Cardinals are AWFUL. They are terrible. They stink. If they had David Johnson they would still stink. They were never in contention. They never will be in contention (this year).
6. Brady looks as good as ever. Will Brady win MVP?
Kevin: Yes. I was wrong about the undefeated season, but I did think Brady was going to have a great year. Only question is if his age will catch up with him towards the end of the season.
Bill: Hahahaha another Brady analysis talking about his age. Over and over and over again. You know when I will wonder about his age? When he consistently plays bad. Which has not happened yet. I will bet heavily on him winning MVP this year. The real question is when is their defense going to show up? They have been atrocious so far this year.
PAT or Go for 2? (Bill leads 4-3)
PAT: Colts @ Seahawks (Kevin)
2 Point Conversion: Eagles (“E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!” – Bill) @ Chargers
