In this edition of Philly’s Phinest, Kevin McClernand and I opened the show with a discussion of the recent dominance of Cliff Lee including his performances in the month of August (00:00-08:30). Next, we compared the statistics of Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay and debated which pitcher would win the Cy Young if the season ended today (08:31-15:36). Moving away from pitching, we had a small tribute to Ryan Howard (15:37-18:43) followed by a conversation about the threat, if any, the Atlanta Braves pose to the taking the NL East Division and a preview of the upcoming series against the Milwaukee Brewers (18:44-26:37). Then, we reflected on the protested game against the Florida Marlins, the role of fans in avoiding interfering with players during a baseball game, and gave a quick update on Joe Blanton (26:38-36:36). For most of the second half of the show, we previewed the Philadelphia Eagles upcoming season with a breakdown of the schedule game by game (37:20-56:51). In the last few minutes, we talked about what the Philadelphia Union needed to do to make the playoffs (56:52-1:00:21).
