In this week’s Bob Long Sports Radio Show, we began by discussing the Women’s World Cup, including what it means for the country, the game of soccer, and this team in particular (Start-42:35). In the middle of this discussion is an interview with Eric Nash from “Vuvuzela: The World Soccer Show,” which airs Sundays from 11AM-12PM on 1490 WBCB (http://www.wbcb1490.com/) (9:35-30:20). Then we asked the question, “what is the greatest sporting event that you have ever witnessed?” Some classics were mentioned that might otherwise slip your mind (42:35-57:05). Then we took a quick break to talk about Boston sports fans in my recent trip to Fenway Park (57:05-1:02:05). Next, we revealed our “All-Time Home Run Derby Teams,” consisting of 4 hitters from any era of baseball (1:03:00-1:07:30), and I analyzed the naivete of many fans regarding steroids (disclaimer: I am not saying that Ken Griffey Jr. definitely took steroids, listen fully to the argument) (1:07:30-1:10:43). Next, we previewed the Home Run Derby (1:10:43-1:16:55), gave out our “Mid-Season Awards” (1:16:55-1:36:00), made our predictions for the 2nd half of the MLB season (1:36:00-1:41:05), and discussed the David Ortiz vs. Kevin Gregg brawl (1:41:05-1:47:00). Then we previewed the All-Star Game (1:47:00-1:56:00) and the Open Championship, set to tee off Thursday (1:56:00-Finish).
Stay tuned each week for the Bob Long Sports Radio Show, live every Monday night 7-9PM on Bob Long Sports.
